The Year Ahead

Throughout the past year our functions and regular monthly luncheons have continued to provide valuable insight from our guest speakers.

Other highlights towards the end of the year included our participation in the Abu Dhabi Business Group Forum in November alongside all of the other business groups of Abu Dhabi at the Emirates Palace.

Looking ahead, our commitment is again to source interesting and motivational speakers at the lunches and look forward to diverse and interesting topics over the coming months. The IBWG group's progress depends entirely on the satisfaction, attendance and input from the members, so, as always, we welcome your suggestions on how to offer you more opportunities to grow, learn, network and do business during your stay in the Emirates.

Volunteer at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City

Join the volunteer corps at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi. Volunteers must commit to a minimum of 4 hours per week. There are a variety of placement areas, primarily during the daytime (8:30 am - 5:00 p.m.) which include:

* Accompanying patients for tests, visiting, & helping them with leisure activities on the Medical, Surgery, and Pediatric Wards, and Coronary Care Unit.
* Assisting the information desk by escorting patients and visitors
* Clerical and patient tasks at the Outpatient Specialty Clinics.
* Helping patients complete their menus & performing a variety of tasks in the Dietetic Dpmt.
* Assisting with inventory control in Materials Management
* Providing information and working with children at health promotion booths (occasionally )
* Helping patients practice exercises provided by Speech Pathology Dpmt.
* Assisting with setting up a patient library.
